Abner Miller begins his third season as Connors State coach Rick Carbone’s assistant for the Cowgirls.

The personable Miller coaches the infield and helps set the defense when the Cowgirls are in the field. He is also the Cowgirls first base coach.

Miller rejoined the Cowgirls and Carbone three seasons ago after stepping away from the game several years ago. The last time he was a Cowgirls assistant he assisted Carbone in leading the team to the National Tournament and a No. 5 ranking in the nation.

“We‘re fortunate to have Abner on our staff,” said Carbone. “He has an excellent knowledge of the game and is a tremendous judge of talent, which will help us in our recruiting efforts.”

Miller has also coached on the high school level, serving as an assistant softball coach at Hilldale High School and an assistant baseball coach at Okay High School. He has also coached in summer programs for 20 years.
