Carl Albert Trims Cowgirls
Connors State Cowgirls fell to Carl Albert Community College twice 1-0 and 7-4 Monday at Poteau and are now 26-27 for the season.
In the opening game the Cowgirls left seven runners on base after giving up a run in the first inning. Hayley Jaynes went the distance inside the circle and is now 12-13 for the year. She allowed just two hits and struck out four.
Emily Ware had three hits and Rachel Criner added two in the loss.
In the nightcap Lauren Robertson took the loss in going the distance. She is now 7-6 on the year. The Vikings scored seven runs in the first inning.
Ashley Ball, Jackie Thurmond and Jalie Neal each had two hits for the Cowgirls, who stranded 11 base runners.
