Cowboys, Northeastern A&M Split Doubleheader
Miami –The Cowboys split a twin bill with Northeastern A&M Saturday, losing the opener 10-9 and taking the nightcap 9-5 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball play to conclude the regular season with a 38-17 overall record and 13-7 mark in OCAC play.
CSC will enter Region II Tournament play Thursday at Jenks and will not its opponent on Monday following the Region Tournament.
In the opener Clint Spradlin struck out seven in the second game with Cody McBride pitching two innings to record his second save of the year Wes Newman blasted a three-run home run as he went 1-for-3 at the plate. Tyler Wheeler and Eric Baker had two hits each with Wheeler driving home two runs.
In the first game Wheeler and Matt Oberste each had two hits and drove in three runs. Baker had two hits in the loss.
