Cowboys Stop Eastern State
Connors State improved its record to 28-14 for the year and 5-4 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 7-2 victory over Eastern State at Wilburton on Thursday.
The two clubs will meet again on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Biff Thompson Field in Warner.
Kyle Wormington took the win for the Cowboys on the mound, striking out nine Mountaineers and scattering eight hits.
Eric Baker and Brodie Ross led Connors with two hits each and drove in two runs each. Ross hit a solo home run in the second inning. Braden Cook added a two-run double for the Cowboys.
