Cowboys Sweep Arkansas Baptist Again

Connors State swept Arkansas Baptist 6-5 and 19-3 Saturday at Biff Thompson Field Saturday behind the outstanding pitching of Jake Fisher in the opener and the offensive onslaught in the second game behind Jake Barton.

The Cowboys will now take a 36-14 overall record and 10-5 Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference mark into Wednesday game’s at Biff Thompson Field at 7 p.m. against Eastern State.

Cowboys’ Fisher struck out nine in the first game to improve to 5-3 for the season. Dusten Knight earned his fifth save.

Eric Baker had three hits including his second home run and scored three times. Cam’Ron Summers added two runs scored and two hits and Matt Oberste slugged his 15th homer.
In the second game Barton had a two-run homer, his first of the season, in the fourth inning and drove in four runs. Baker had three hits and scored a run in the night cap. Tyler Wheeler and Wes Newman for combined four hits and five RBIs.
