Cowboys Sweep College of Ozarks

Connor State Cowboys swept a doubleheader from the University of Ozarks Monday in Clarksville, Ark., winning the first game 7-1 and taking the second game 14-2.

The twin bill sweep gives the Cowboys a 21-9 record heading into a Thursday game with Rose State at Biff Thompson Field at 3 p.m.

In the opener, Matt Oberste hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning, his 11th of the season, to lead the Cowboys to the win.

Wes Newman went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and scored a run and Cam’ Ron Summers was 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs.

In the second game Chris Tavares went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run in the third inning and finished with five RBIs.

Tyler Wheeler went 3-for-5 at the plate with four RBIs, whi8le also scoring a run.
