Cowgirls and NEO Split Twin Bill

Connors State Cowgirls and Northeastern A&M split a doubleheader in softball play Monday at Warner, as the Lady Norse took the opener 3-0 in 10 innings and the Cowgirls over powering NEO 8-6.

The Cowgirls now 19-21 will battle Murray State at home today.

In the first game Cowgirls’ Hayley Jaynes threw a no-hitter through six innings before giving up a three-run home run in the 10th to fall to the Lady Norse. Haynes gave up just three hits in the 10-inning game, and had one of the Cowgirls four hits in the contest.

In the second game the Cowgirls’ Rachel Criner blasted a three-run homer in the fourth, her first of the year in taking the second game. Paige Boiling and Jaynes each had two hits with a RBI in the contest. .
