Cowgirls Earn Split Against Rose State
Cowgirls earned a split with Rose State Thursday losing the first game of a doubleheader 10-4 and winning the second 4-2 to even their record on the season to 18-18.
Connors will resume play on Saturday with Eastern State on Saturday at home. First pitch is schedule for 1 p.m.
In the opener the Cowgirls pounded out seven base hits with Jessica Daicus leading the attack going 2-for-3, with Hannah Hamilton connecting on a 3-run home run, her third of the season.
Lauren Robertson took the loss inside the circle and is now 6-5 on the year. Robertson gave up eight hits with only two of her runs were earned allowed in going the distance.
Connors took a 3-0 lead in the second inning on back-to-back solo home runs by Lauren Pittman and Paige Boling. Both homers were their eighth of the year.
Cowgirls third run came on a Rachel Criner doubled, who then stole third and scored on Hayley Jaynes’ double.
Jaynes got the victory in the circle giving up just four hits in posting her 9th win of the season against 8 losses.
