Cowgirls Open 2012 Season on Road

Connors State Cowgirls open the 2012 softball season Friday at Longview, Texas, at the Northeast Texas Invitational tournament.

The tournament features a field of nine teams, Northeast Texas Community College, Eastern State College, Angelina, Texas, College, Carl Albert State College, Lamar, Texas, State College, North Central, Texas College, Cisco, Texas, College and Ranger, Texas, College.

The Cowgirls are coming off a 37-35 record that reached the finals of the Region II Tournament.

Connors will open play Friday with three games beginning at 2 p.m. against Cisco, and then battling Ranger at 4 p.m. and Northeast Texas Community College at 6 p.m.

Saturday the Cowgirls will play North Central College at 11:30 a.m. and Lamar State College at 2 p.m.
