Cowgirls Split Doubleheader Against Western State

Connors State Cowgirls split an Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference twin bill with Western State Tuesday at Warner, winning the opener 9-2 and falling in the second game 7-3

The Cowgirls are now 27-24 on the season and will take on the Pioneers again in a doubleheader at Western State on Thursday.

In the first game of the doubleheader Paige Boling connected for her 10th home run of the season in the fifth inning, a two-run blast.

Alyx Sovo connected for two hit with four RBIs, with Hannah Hamilton rapping out two base hits and two RBIs and Bailey Neel plating a run with two hits.

Hayley Jaynes got the win in the circle and is now 12-11 on the year. She pitched seven innings, allowing six runs and struck out two Pioneers.

In the second game, errors proved costly for the Cowgirls, as Connors committed four miscues in the third inning resulting in four Pioneer runs.

Boiling knocked out her 11th home run of the season in the fifth inning and Rachel Criner had two hits and scored a run.

Lauren Robertson took the loss and is now 7-7 in the circle as he gave up six runs on four hits and had two strikeouts.
