Cowgirls Sweep Carl Albert
Connors Cowgirls swept visiting Carl Albert Community College Thursday, 13-0, and 6-0 at Warner. The doubleheader victories up the Cowgirls record to 23-21 for the season and 8-4 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The sweep was Connors five straight victories.
The Cowgirls resume play Saturday with a doubleheader Saturday at Miami against Northeastern A&M. First pitch is schedule for 2 p.m.
In the opener Hayley Jaynes picked up the win inside the circle. She now has an 11-10 record as she had plenty of help as the Cowgirls jumped out to a 13-0 lead after two innings of play.
The offensive assault was led by Jalie Neal, Hannah Hamilton and Paige Boling with three hits each. Alyx and Jaynes collected two hits each, Alyx’s barrage included her fourth home run of the season and Hamilton knocked out her sixth of the year.
The second game belonged to Lauren Robertson as she is now 7-5 in the circle as Jordan Jones collected here third save.
Jackie Thurmond and Neal combined for five RBIs.
