Cowgirls Sweep Murray State

Connors Cowgirls overpowered Murray State Tuesday in sweeping an Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader from Murray State, 9-1 and 5-3 to even their season record at 21-21.

The Cowgirl will next play Thursday at home against Carl Albert Community College at 2 p.m. in Warner.

Connors pounded out five home runs in the wins over Murray State. Hannah Hamilton, Rachel Criner, Paige Boiling and Jessica Dacus each blasted a home run.

Criner led the hitting assault with two homers, one in each game and Hamilton had three hits and two RBIs, while scoring three runs. Boiling connected for her ninth homer of the season a two-run blast in the opener and Dacus homered in the nightcap.

Hayley Jaynes and Jordan Jones were the winning pitchers.
