Cowgirls Win 2-of-3 Games
The Cowgirls softball team posted a 2-1 record on Sunday in the Midwest Festival at Broken Arrow’s Arrowhead Field.
Connors State’s Emily Weire singled in a run, Rachel Criner had an RBI double and Alex Sovo’s sacrifice fly capped at three-run eighth inning in the Cowgirls 6-4 win over Garden City (Kan.) 6-4 on an international tiebreaker in the first game. Paige Boling went 2-for-5 for the Cowgirls at the plate.
The Cowgirls then defeated Neosho (Mo.) 7-6, rallying from a two-run deficit on a three-run home run by Lauren Pittman.
Connors fell to Northeastern A&M 12-4 in the final game.
The Cowgirls resume play Saturday against Jefferson County Community College in Carthage, Mo.
