Cowboys, Rose State Split
Connors State grabbed a split of a doubleheader against Rose State, losing the first game 7-6 and winning the second 10-7 on Saturday . The Cowboys are now 24-10 on the season.
Justin McGee gave up a walk-off home run and Rose State squeaked out a 7-6 victory over the Cowboys in the opening game of a doubleheader. McGee is now 1-1on the mound for the Cowboys this season.
Eric Baker, Tyler Wheeler, and Tyler Muse each had two hits for the Cowboys in the loss.
In the second game Dustin Knight pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief striking out seven and allowing no hits as took the nightcap.
Eric Baker tied the game at 7-all in the eighth on a solo home run, his first of the season.
Cam’ Ron Summers had four hits and Wes Newman had three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run double in the eighth that broke the tie.
