Oberste Named NJCAA All-American

WARNER – Connors State College’s Matt Oberste has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-American baseball team, it was announced Wednesday.

Oberste was selected as a designate hitter and was a third team selection. He was also a first team Region II selection.

The freshman from Sallisaw hit .418 for the Cowboys who finished the season 39-20 and reached the championship game of the Region II Tournament in Jenks.

Oberste ranked 8th in the nation with 15 home runs and was sixth on the NJCAA RBI chart with 67. He had an on base percentage of .495 with 17 doubles and 4 triples.
