Wheeler's Slam Powers Cowboys Past Seminole
Tyler Wheeler’s grand slam in the ninth inning propelled Connors State Cowboys over Seminole State 8-5 Friday at Biff Thompson Field to lift the Cowboys to an 8-5 Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Association victory.
It was Wheeler’s first home run of the season in giving Kyle Wormington the victory on the mound. He gave up five runs, while scattering 10 hits and struck out four.
The Cowboys are now 26-12 on the season and battle Seminole again Saturday at 1 p.m.
In the victory Matt Oberste had three hits and drove in three RBIs with Eric Baker collecting two hits, and Cam’ron Summers adding more two hits with an RBI.
