
MIDWEST CITY—Connors Cowgirls advanced to the winners' bracket of the Region II Softball Tournament with an opening round 8-3 victory over host Rose State Friday on the Raiders home field.
The Cowgirls 34-14 will play Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa at 10 a.m. Saturday. A win will advance CSC into a 6 p.m. clash on Saturday against the winner of Seminole State and Northern-Oklahoma Enid.
If the Cowgirls fall they will battle the winner of Rose State and Northeastern A&M at 4 p.m.
The Cowgirls Tarin Dubler led Connors with three hits while Bailey Aldridge, Paige Westover, Jessica Collins and Mikey Nelson all had two hits in the victory.
In other first round games, Seminole State defeated Eastern State 11-3, NOC-Enid dropped Carl Albert 7-0, and NOC-Tonkawa upset NEO, 3-0.
In Friday afternoon elimination games, Carl Albert topped Eastern State 7-3 and NEO ousted Carl Albert 8-0.
