Cowgirls Fall to Paris CC 57-45 for First loss of Season

PARIS, TEXAS—Connors State Cowgirls sustained their first loss of the season (3-1) when they fell to host Paris Community College 57-45 on the Dragons home floor Saturday.

The Dragons jumped out to a 23-15 lead at the end of the first quarter of play and the Cowgirls were never able to overcome the quick Paris start.

"We battled back to within two points in the third quarter but just couldn't overcome them," said Cowgirls head coach Jamie Fisher. "We just made too many mistakes and allowed them to score on transition."

Fisher also added "We just didn't shoot the ball very well. It was our first road game and with a young ball club they just have to learn."

Kimberly Motley was the only Connors player to score in double figures. She led the attack with 10 points. Aniya Webster followed with eight points.

Cowgirls will next play Monday night at Melvin Self Field House against Oklahoma Wesleyan Junior Varsity. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m.
