
WARNER—Connors Cowgirls opened second semester play with a come from behind 65-60 victory over the Seminole State Belles.
The win improves the Cowgirls' record to 15-2 and 2-1 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Seminole is now 5-10 and winless in league action at 0-3. The Cowgirls will next battle Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on Thursday.
Cowgirls trailed throughout much of the first half, before taking a 29-28 lead at the half
"We were rusty coming out," said Coach Jamie Fisher. "I thought our kids battled down the stretch. We did some good things.
"Our defense locked them down late in the game and that was the difference. I thought we played good team basketball again tonight."
The second half was a back-and-fourth battle with the game tied four times, before the Cowgirls took charge in the final 3:30 of the game to post the win.
DeAsia Reid led Connors scoring with 17 points, with Caylin Livers adding 12 and Tatum Jones 10.
