Murray State Stuns Cowgirls, 76-70 in OCAC Play

TISHOMINGO----Connors State jumped out to a 23-14 lead over Murray State in the opening period; however the Aggies rallied in the second half to overtake the Cowgirls to post a 76-70 Oklahoma Collegiate Conference victory Monday at Beames Field House.

The loss drops the Cowgirls to 17-5 for the year and 4-4 in OCAC play heading into a homecoming clash with Western Oklahoma State Thursday at Melvin Self Field House. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m.

The Aggies improve to 12-9 on the year and 2-5 in league play.

Cowgirls held a 3-point lead at the half 38-35, but fell behind in the third period when the Aggies outscored Connors 18-13 for a 53-52 advantage at the end of three quarters.

In the final period of play Murray outscored the Cowgirls 23-19 to secure the victory.

Cheyanne Crain led the Cowgirls scoring with 21 points with Chalynn Mayes adding 14 and Jasmyn Taylor scoring 11 in the loss.

Alajah Stewart was the Aggies leading scorer with 23 points followed by Madison Roberson's 10 points.
