Connors State Cowboys Hold Off Murray State College Aggies For Victory
Despite seeing their 5-run lead whittled down by the end, Connors State Cowboys still held off for a 7-5 victory on Friday. Murray State College Aggies closed the gap by scoring on a double and a home run. A sacrifice fly by Beene put Murray State College Aggies on the board in the top of the first. Murray State College Aggies added one run in the second after Johnson grounded out. Connors State Cowboys took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Logan Hedrick grounded into a fielder's choice, and Anderson Fenwick doubled to center field, each scoring two runs. Connors State Cowboys added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jordan Gallo homered to center field, and Brooks Hasenclever singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Brock Flanagan earned the win for Connors State Cowboys. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking none. Gabriel Baldera started on the bump for Connors State Cowboys. The righty surrendered two hits and two runs (one earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two. Ramirez stepped on the hill first for Murray State College Aggies. The pitcher surrendered three hits and four runs over two innings, striking out one and walking two. Fenwick led Connors State Cowboys with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Seojin Kim led Connors State Cowboys with three hits in three at bats.
