Kim’s Big Day Propels Connors State Cowboys Past NEO A&M
Seojin Kim drove in four runs on two hits to lead Connors State Cowboys past NEO A&M 13-6 on Saturday. Kim hit a home run to left field in the sixth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the seventh inning, scoring one. Connors State Cowboys rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-0 in the second. NEO A&M were the first to get on the board in the first when Gullemette grounded out, scoring one run. NEO A&M scored five runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Menard singled, scoring one run, Marin drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lalonde doubled, scoring three runs. Luke Beeler hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth for the Connors State Cowboys. Connors State Cowboys flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 10-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Kim that drove in three. Ty Anderson pitched seven and one-third innings in relief for Connors State Cowboys. The reliever surrendered four hits and one run while, striking out 10 and walking two. Brock Flanagan stepped on the bump first for Connors State Cowboys. The righty allowed four hits and five runs (four earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one. #19 began the game for NEO A&M. The hurler surrendered eight hits and nine runs (six earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking four. Connors State Cowboys tallied 16 hits in the game. Maddox Edwards and Marc Nellis each collected three hits for Connors State Cowboys. Landon Holzhauer, Brooks Hasenclever, and Beeler each collected multiple hits for Connors State Cowboys.
