Connors State Cowboys’s Gallo Powers Through Seminole State Trojans
Jordan Gallo hit two home runs and drove in five as Connors State Cowboys defeated Seminole State Trojans 14-4 on Thursday. Gallo homered in the fifth and sixth innings. Connors State Cowboys were the first to get on the board in the third when Brooks Hasenclever homered to right field, scoring two runs. Connors State Cowboys scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth on a grand slam to right field by Gallo. Connors State Cowboys added to their lead with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to home runs by Maddox Edwards and Gallo. Three more Connors State Cowboys runs crossed the plate in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 14-4. Landon Holzhauer homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Luke Beeler doubled, scoring one run. Jayden Gould led things off on the hill for Connors State Cowboys. The righty allowed five hits and four runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Moore began the game for Seminole State Trojans. The hurler surrendered two hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Cade Cometti pitched one inning of no-run ball for Connors State Cowboys in relief. The righty gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking two. Connors State Cowboys piled up 11 hits in the game.
