Hedrick’s Power On Display As Connors State Cowboys Defeat NEO A&M

Logan Hedrick hit two home runs and drove in four as Connors State Cowboys defeated NEO A&M 16-9 on Friday. Hedrick homered in the eighth and third innings. Connors State Cowboys collected 16 hits and NEO A&M had 10 in the high-scoring affair. NEO A&M got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Descarreaux homered to left field, scoring two runs, Lalonde hit a solo home run to center field, and Santana grounded out, scoring one run. Connors State Cowboys scored one run in the top of the third on a solo home run to right field by Hedrick. NEO A&M added two runs in the third after Gullemette singled to center field. Connors State Cowboys scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Brooks Hasenclever. Connors State Cowboys took the lead, 9-8, in the top of the seventh thanks to home runs by Keshav Tebeck, and Landon Holzhauer. Lalonde singled to right field, which helped NEO A&M tie the game at nine in the bottom of the seventh. Connors State Cowboys took the lead, 16-9, in the top of the eighth thanks to home runs by Seojin Kim, Hedrick, and Jordan Gallo. Gabriel Baldera stepped on the hill first for Connors State Cowboys. The pitcher surrendered eight hits and eight runs (six earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Lalonde stepped on the hill first for NEO A&M. The starter gave up eight hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out four and walking six. Joan Contreras tossed two innings of zero-run ball for Connors State Cowboys in relief. The hurler gave up two hits, striking out none and walking two. Connors State Cowboys piled up 16 hits in the game. Tebeck, Maddox Edwards, and Marc Nellis each collected multiple hits for Connors State Cowboys. Hasenclever led Connors State Cowboys with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Connors State Cowboys turned two double plays in the game.
