Connors State Cowboys Walk-Off In Nail-Biter Against Seminole State Trojans
Connors State Cowboys took Saturday's game in dramatic fashion, with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Seminole State Trojans. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the tenth when Luke Beeler hit a solo home run to left field. Connors State Cowboys collected nine hits and Seminole State Trojans had 14 in the high-scoring affair. Seminole State Trojans got on the board in the first inning after Simon singled, scoring two runs. Seminole State Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Restine doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Mccoy hit into a double play, but one run scored. Connors State Cowboys tied the game in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a single by Brooks Hasenclever, a fielder's choice by Keshav Tebeck, and a single by Beeler. Seminole State Trojans took the lead in the top of the ninth. Restine doubled, scoring one run, to give Seminole State Trojans the upper hand, 7-6. Maddox Edwards singled to center field following a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped Connors State Cowboys tie the game at seven in the bottom of the ninth. Brock Flanagan started the game for Connors State Cowboys. The hurler allowed four hits and four runs over two innings, striking out two and walking four. Taylor stepped on the hill first for Seminole State Trojans. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking four. Jackson Black, Gabriel Baldera, Beau Billeck, Jaxon Lee, Cade Cometti, Ty Anderson, and Diego Ramos each threw scoreless innings for Connors State Cowboys in relief. Connors State Cowboys amassed nine hits in the game. Hasenclever provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Connors State Cowboys with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Beeler went 3-for-6 at the plate to lead Connors State Cowboys in hits. Marc Nellis collected two hits for Connors State Cowboys in three at bats.
