Connors improves to 12-2 for the season and will close out the first half of the 2017-18 season with a road game Thursday night at Bethany against Southwestern Christian University junior varsity. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
It was the Cowboys second win of the year over the Warriors having captured a 99-77 victory on Nov. 9th.
All 10 Cowboys got into the scoring column with Connor' J-and-J boys leading the offensive assault. Terrance Jones led the attack with 23 points and Mason Jones followed with 22 more, scoring a double-double with 11 rebounds.
"I thought we played well defensively the first half, and then got a little lacks the second half," said Cowboys head coach Bill Muse. "We got a chance to play every body and that's good.
"I thought Terrance Jones played real well, along with Mason. Ra'Shawn Langston was the only other Cowboy to score in double digits with 12 points.
The Cowboys forced Bacone into 22 turnovers in the game, resulting in numerous Connors points.
"I think we got pretty good production from everybody. Everyone scored and that's good when your entire team scores," said Muse.
Cowboys led at the intermission, 42-27, the largest Connors lead of the first half.
Connors blew the game open early in the second half with a 16-0 run streaking to a commanding 60-33 lead with 14:15 remaining in the game.
The Cowboys held its largest lead 41 points, 91-50 at the 4:22 mark of the second half.
Bacone's scoring was led by Wyatt Coiner's 16 points with Joe Greaves adding 11 in the loss.
Following Thursday non-conference clash with Southwestern Christian JV, the Cowboys will return to Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Jan. 8th against Murray State in Tishomingo, in the first of 14 OCAC games.
"We have a lot of basketball left, all conference play," said Muse. "We are improving and making progress. Hopefully are guys are gaining experience this first semester," he said.
