Cowboys Langston Signs With Louisiana Tech

Connors State's  head men's basketball coach Bill Muse and Louisiana Tech's  head coach Eric Konko announced on Thursday the signing of Cowboys'  guard Ra'Shawn Langston to a National Letter of Intent.

Langston is a 6-foot-3-inch, 185-pound scorer from Little Rock, Ark,, ranked as the No. 24 junior college player in the country per JucoRecruiting.com,

During Langston's two seasons at Connors he  accumulated 1,163 career points, sixth most in school history.

"We are excited to welcome Ra'Shawnto the Louisiana Tech Family," Konkol said. "Ra'Shawn is a high energy, aggressive guard who attacks on both ends of the floor. He has competed at a tradition-rich junior college program at Connors State under Coach Bill Muse and will bring quality experience to our program. Ra'Shawn is driven to become the best version of himself at Louisiana Tech and we are excited to help him."

Langston led the Cowboys this past season to a 31-4 overall record, including a Region  II championship and an Elite 8  appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament before falling 80-75 to eventual champion South Plains, Texas.

For the season, he averaged 20.1 points per game while shooting 53 percent from the field and 39 percent from three-point range. He also averaged 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

He ended up totaling 684 points during his sophomore year which ranked as the seventh most in the country. He posted 21 games of 20+ points, including a career-high 41 points in the third game of the season at Arkansas Baptist.

During the NJCAA Tournament, he averaged 24.7 points over the course of three games in route to being named to the All-Tournament Team. He also earned OCAC All-Conference honors and was named Region 2 Player of the Year, First Team All-Region 2 and a Second Team NJCAA All-American.

As a freshman at Connors State College, Langston averaged 14.5 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 37 percent from deep. He posted 25 double-digit scoring games, including three 30+ scoring performances, one of which was a 33-point effort in the NJCAA playoffs.
