Warner- It looked like Tulsa Memorial reunion night Wednesday at Melvin Self Fieldhouse as former Chargers Bradyn Hubbard and Dannon Lundy led the charge as the Connors State Cowboys opened the 2023 season with a 109-52 win over the Mid America Christian University Evangels JV.
Hubbard, a returning sophomore, had 29 points on the night and Lundy, a freshman, scored 22 for the Cowboys in the first of three straight nights of action on the Warner campus.
"It was a good night with everyone playing and that was the biggest plus of the night and all but one scored. That's always good for team chemistry especially when you have as many new faces as we have this year," said Hall of Fame coach Bill Muse, now entering his 32nd year at the helm of the Cowboys. "Our competition this week will be about the same, so it gives everyone a chance to build some minutes and feel good about things before things start getting tougher next week."
The Cowboys hit the court again Thursday in Warner in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against Central Baptist college.
