Adam Skolnick enters his third season as the Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach at Connors State, having been in Warner since the beginning of the program.

The 2024 season saw the men’s team make the playoffs for the second time in as many seasons, while the women showed massive improvement in their record and statistically. The men finished 2024 with an overall record of 5-8-1 and lost in the first round of the Region 2 Tournament to eventual runners-up Eastern Oklahoma State. The women finished 4-13-1, an increase of three wins from the first season.

The inaugural season in 2023 saw some success for both teams, with both teams earning their first wins and the men’s team qualifying for the Region 2 Tournament, the only first-year team in the country to qualify for playoffs that year. The team earned immediate recognition, with three players (Yaw Frimpong, Taylor Moore, and Jelan Ward) earning Region 2 and/or National Player of the Week honors. Frimpong was also named Second Team All-Region as a freshman.

The teams have also had significant success off the field, finishing the 2023-2024 academic year with two of the highest program GPAs on campus. Additionally, 11 players have committed to playing at a four-year school, while others have made the jump directly to Connors State’s nursing program, and others decided to continue their education without playing college soccer.

Prior to coming to Connors, Skolnick spent the 2022 season at Millsaps College, where he served as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team. Before Millsaps, Skolnick worked with semi-pro club Winter Haven United as a director and coach.  Adam has also worked with the Florida Tropics professional indoor soccer team, where they won the 2019 UPSL National Championship and the 2019-2020 MASL Championship in the same year.

Skolnick started his playing career in Plant City, FL. He grew up playing under coaches Jose Rodriguez, Greg Peterson, and Stephen Rossiter, then continued his playing career in college at Webber International University before joining the coaching staff in 2013 as a student assistant, then with the women’s team in 2016 for his graduate work.

Skolnick’s family currently resides in Florida and New York, with an older brother serving in the U.S. Army. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and an MBA in Sport Management from Webber International University and holds a National D License from the U.S. Soccer Federation.
