Cowgirls fall to Eastern

The Connors State Cowgirls took on OCAC confernece leader Eastern Oklahoma on Monday evening in Melvin Self Fieldhouse and fell 80-56. The Cowgirls battled ealry with the Lady Mountaineers and a good second quarter surged helped pull away from the Cowgirls giving Eastern 38-28 halftime advatange. The Cowgirls could never cut the deficit under 10 all through the second half of the game. 

"We tried to substain their runs, but at the end of the day they were just to many of them for us to handle," said Head Coach Jamie Fisher. 

The Cowgirls had 4 players scoring in double figures lead by freshman guard Kionce' Woods with 14 points. Isabel Gonzalez added 11 points followed by Cheyanne Crain and Chalynn Mayes both with 10 points. The Cowgirls will be in action again on Thursday evening at 5:30 pm vs. Seminole State College inside Melvin Self Fieldhouse. 

"I thought our effort and intensity was way better tonight than it's been in the previous 3 outings, and this is a tough game that we will have to find a way to build on and continue to get better." said Fisher
