Cowgirls win on the Road earns 4th seed in OCAC Tounament

Cowgirls finish the regular season on the road vs. Eastern Oklahoma State College 0-23 (0-16). Cowgirls came into this game 11-17 (8-7) with a 3 way tie for 4th place in conference. Cowgirls never trailed against Eastern. In the first quarter the Cowgirls led 19-8. Throughout the first half the lead would get to as much as 15. Addyson Gream led all scores with 9 at half. Cowgirls struggled to knock down shots from beyond the arc going 1-12 in the first half.
Second half the cowgirls got alot more shots at the rim. Addyson scored the first 6 points of the 3rd quarter. Cowgirls got out to a 20 point lead but it was cut down to as much as 9. Addyson Gream finished with 22 points 9 Rebounds. Kiaya Davis added 21 points and 8 rebounds. Jerreyah Jones added 8 points Allie Anderson finised with 6 points. Junee Williams and Aaliyah Scott with 4.
Coach Thompson " I really wanted to use this game and make my our players guard at a high level. I knew we needed this win to break the tie so I want to make sure we played hard. Although we did not hit shots in the game I do believe our effort was there. I really want wanted my team to attack more in the second half. We also wanted to emphasize on turnovers.. Hats off to Eastern they hit some tough shots throughout the game. We have time to prepare for postseason and have work to do but I am excited and proud of team."
Cowgirls finished forth in OCAC play going 9-7.
Kiaya Davis led the country in scoring avering 23 points per game.
Addyson Gream averaged 11 points per game in conference
Aaliyah Scott averaged 10 points per game in conference
Cowgirls were picked 6th in preseason polls.
