Warner OK
The 2025-2026 season will be here soon and second year Head Coach Jaylen Thompson has high expectations for the Cowgirls. After a late start in recruiting and a roster with no experience the Cowgirls fininshed (4th) in Region 2 seedings where they lost in the second round of the conference tournament to Murray State. The Cowgirls would finish the season 13-18. This year the Cowgirls look to make big statement after having a year in recruiting and understand the OCAC conference. Coach Thompson, " I wanted to find players who think how I do. I'm very competitive and I like players who compete without quesiton. I knew we needed to get bigger so I signed six players 5'9 or taller and we needed winners. Recruiting players who want to play at the next level is the easy part, but finding the right players who fit our culture was most important. We will play fast and have multiple kids who can score the basketball. Last year I think we really struggled finshing games because we did not score it well. I also wanted to addresss the need for shooting. We needed to shoot the ball better if we want to win this conference. I believe we took care of that. We will have 11 new players this fall including 2 transfers, and 9 freshmen."

Coach Thompson also welcomes a new assistant coach. Tore Alford comes to Connors and will provided a lot of knowledge to the program. With her successful playing career, she comes in with a winning mindset
Coach Thompson " Having a full year to recruit our team expect us to make some noise. We have the most impactful returners in the conference and added some much needed pieces. It was important for me to check all the boxes if we want to be in the National Tournament this year and believe I have the roster to do that."
