Thompson adds 14 New Cowgirls to the 2026-27 Roster
Cowgirls revamp their roster
After a tough season in 2025-2026 the Connors State Womens basketball team looks to revamp their roster for next season. Coach Thompson is bringing 14 new players to Connors with only Jaycee Meissinger returning from the previous team. Coach Thompson "Last year was extremely tough for me. We had a tough season on and off the court. I never truly felt like my team was able to be their best. I am excited to welcome our new athletes to Connors. We wanted to find players with winning culture and high offensive abilities. Our motto was "OUTWORK OTHERS" meaning, we wanted to find players who wanted to be the best and make it a mission to outwork their opponents. After being in the juco for 2 seasons I believe I understand what makes team thrive at this level. I recruited really hard and found some great athletes. Beyond the basketball we wanted to find young ladies with high character values. Knowing we would have a high number of newcomers we wanted to find players who match our personalities and align with our standards."
Returning for the Cowgirls is sophomore guard Jaycee Meissinger, who started 26 games during the 2025-26 season. Meissinger earned NJCAA Region 2 Honorable Mention honors while averaging nearly 10 points per game, establishing herself as one of the team's most reliable contributors.

She ranked fourth in Oklahoma in scoring according to MaxPreps and set Sapulpa High School's single-season assists record while leading multiple deep playoff runs and state tournament appearances. Also scoring over 1000 in her career
Transfer guard Lean Sanchez Perez joins the Cowgirls from Coastal Bend College after leading her team in scoring as a freshman. Sanchez Perez finished her first collegiate season with 9PPG and posted a season-high 19-point performance against nationally respected South Plains College.
Region 2 transfer Mariah Watson, a transfer from Seminole State College. Watson gained valuable collegiate experience as a freshman, appearing in every game during her first season.
