Cowgirl Soccer Ready for Tough Spring Test
WARNER - The Connors State women's soccer team has returned to training and is getting prepared for its upcoming spring schedule.
With a small roster size, the team's focus has been on individual development and development in small groups, preparing the freshmen to step into bigger roles this fall.
Due to the smaller roster size, the spring schedule looks a little different for the women, with a focus on playing 6v6 and 7v7 matches to maximize touches while still providing a competitive environment.
The Cowgirls have already participated in a joint clinic with the WSA South U19 team, offering the players on that team the opportunity to learn and experience the faster pace game. The night ended with some friendly scrimmaging.
Connors State is now set for its first spring match on Sunday, and it will be a tough test as they will travel to Tulsa to take on the Tulsa FC Channel Cats in an indoor match. The Tulsa FC Channel Cats play in the Major Arena Soccer League Women (MASLW), the premier professional women's league for indoor/arena soccer. The match will be played at Ascension St. John Sportsplex and will be played under MASLW rules, giving our players the opportunity to play against high level opponents and be seen by professional coaches.
Additional spring matches will be announced on social media, so make sure you follow Connors State Soccer on Facebook, X, and Instagram for updates on both teams.
