Cowboys Advance to 2nd Consecutive Region II Championship Game

Muskogee, OK- It will be Championship Saturday for the Connors State Cowboys as they battle for the Region 2 South Central title in this year's National Junior College Athletic Association Region II tournament at Muskogee's Rougher Village arena for the second consecutive season.
Sophomore standout Edwin Daniel showed why he was named to the 1st Team All Region Team on Friday afternoon as he powered his way to another Double Double help push the Cowboys to a convencing 80-48 win over Western Oklahoma State College on Semfinal Friday inside Rougher Village.
The Cowboys (27-3) were up 15 at the Half and never looked back in the covencing semifinal win.
Connors State coach Bill Muse said going in that containing Westerns perimeter game would be key. The Pioneers (21-10) were 3 of 18 from 3-point range, and Region 2 MVP Jeremiah Littlejohn was held to a season low 4 points on the afternoon.
Edwin Daniel had 18 points for the Cowboys to lead all scorers. Kevin Stubblefield Jr had 17, DJ Dormu and Ethan Dietz had 11, while Jeremiah Johnson and Aric Walls had 10 points. Tito Ramos finished the scoring for the Cowboys with 3 Points on the afternoon.
